Year 11

In the Spring term all Year 9 Students will be issued with a KS4 Options booklet.

This booklet is designed for students and their parents or guardians.  It has two purposes.  The first is to help to choose the subjects which students would like to take in Years 10 and 11 (Key Stage 4).  The second is to provide information about the courses which are part of the Key Stage 4 curriculum.

Key Stage 4 is an exciting time.  Students are able to choose some of the GCSE subjects they will take and will probably be beginning to think about what they might do when they eventually leave school.  In Year 9, it is difficult to have clear ideas about what you want to do as a career so it is important at this stage that students follow a broad and balanced curriculum and keep their options open.  They must think several years ahead and make choices which will leave them free to change their minds about their career, as they discover their strengths and abilities.  If students find it difficult to decide between subjects, they should talk to their Form Tutors or to the subject staff.  They will be able to tell students more about what is involved in each course so that they are more able to make sensible decisions.

In addition to the subjects detailed in the options, and curriculum information, booklets Glebelands work as part of the Waverley Federation enabling the opportunity to study special options, which are an alternative to GCSE, at either Godalming College or a specialist training centre. The most recent prospectus for these courses is available below.

There will be an opportunity to learn more about the opportunities available at the Year 9 Information Evening in February.
