Glebelands School improved their results yet again with 70% of students achieving the new ‘basics’ measure of A*-C in English and Maths. 83% of students achieved A*-C in English and 79% achieved A*-C in Maths, while 29% of grades across all subjects were awarded at A or A*.
Headteacher Anne Hutchinson said ‘We are absolutely delighted with these results. More importantly our value added measure which shows the progress made by students from where they started at the end of Year 6 to their GCSE achievements at the end of Year 11 is fantastic – well above national expectations and by far the highest we have ever achieved. Also, the gender gap was only 1%.’
She added ‘All the students deserve their success as they have worked so hard and we are delighted for them. I know that they would want to pass on their thanks to the fabulous teachers who supported them through their five years with us. I would also like to thank the governors and parents for their support – it’s a team effort! We know that our students will go on to do great things and wish them all the very best for the future’.
