After a challenging exam period, the Glebelands Year 11 students were able to let their hair down in celebration of finishing their GCSEs by attending their Leavers Prom. The theme, as chosen by the students, was ‘A Night at The Oscars’ and this was reflected in the décor of the venue.

102 Glebelands Leavers arrived in a wide variety of modes of transport including tractors, motorbikes, vintage cars, Bentley’s and Camper Vans. The dress code was formal and the students did not disappoint with the boys sporting some very smart 3-piece suits and the girls choosing full length gowns, jumpsuits and ball gowns. The students were on the dance floor from the moment they arrived, taking a moment to pop into the photo booth or be wowed by the close up magician. Following the two course sit-down meal they were eagerly back on the dance floor and remained there until the end of the evening.

“It was such a celebration of their hard work and I hope that they will remember their Leavers Day for many years to come. They have been a wonderful year group and I am so proud of their approach to their exams. I wish them all the best for the future and hope they get the results they deserve in August.”
