On Friday 14th September, the Year 11 Senior Students and Prefects of Glebelands School took part in a Personal Development Day aimed at improving their teamwork, which was run by the Army Recruiting Team 20.  After a 30 minute intense warm-up, they spent the morning taking part in team building activities and command tasks. The 46 students returned after lunch to a tug of war, followed by the highlight of the day - an inflatable assault course, for which the students teamed up and raced against the clock to try and beat the opposition. During the course of the day, the pupils not only built up new team skills, but also learnt about the life of a soldier and were given a taste of how physically demanding their training sessions are.

“The whole Senior Student and Prefect Team had a fantastic day with everyone getting stuck in and rising to the challenges that they were set, by working together as a team” said Head Boy, Oliver Turner. Head Girl, Hannah Mansfield, who also enjoyed the day, added “We’re so grateful to the Army for coming in to run the activities for us. It was wonderful to spend the day with such inspirational people.” Head of Achievement, Ms Catherine McAulay who organised the day, commented “We are very proud of our newly appointed Senior students and Prefects and I know that they will go on to do a fantastic job this year."
