Ready, aim ... cook

Three Army chefs visited Glebelands School for a Ready Steady Cook presentation.

Corporal Andy Chapman, who discussed the nutritional needs of ration packs with GCSE pupils, was joined by Privates Rob Muir and Sandeep Singh.

The pupils were split into groups and asked to make a three-course meal from the contents of a ration pack, being given 15 minutes to create a menu before making the dishes.

Both GCSE food classes took part and they came up with soups, pasta dishes, omelettes, fruit crumbles, chocolate brownies and custard.

"All the students who took part really enjoyed the experience," said a school spokesman.
