School's Friendly Welcome to French Pupils

Glebelands recently played host to a school visit from its twin town of Semur-en-Auxois in Burgundy, France.

A total of 54 pupils from the Christian Perceret secondary school in Semur visited Glebelands.  The French school has been 'twinned' with Glebelands for a couple of years, but this was the first time that pupils from the two schools had met.

The French pupils stayed at Cranleigh School and visited the pupils at Glebelands on two days.

They attended lessons with the English pupils and even had a fun France v England football match.

"All the pupils had a great time and made new friends.  There were even a few tears when they had to leave," said a spokesman for the school.

The French students also visited London and Brighton, where they enjoyed blue skies and soaring temperatures.
