Glebelands School played host to a maths challenge for feeder primary schools.

Seven teams of able mathematicians from three local primary schools - Cranleigh Primary, Park Mead and St Cuthbert Mayne were involved.

They took part in a succession of six mathematical rounds consisting of a calculator challenge, a set of team questions and a sudoku puzzle, followed by a codes round, a finding pentominoes competition and finally an energetic mathematics relay.

After the final scores were calculated, the top three teams were announced, with teams from Park Mead taking the first two places and a team from St Cuthbert Mayne finishing third.

“I would like to congratulate all the teams that took part," said Glebelands' maths teacher, Allie Farrell.  "It was great to see young mathematical minds working so well together.  It seemed like everyone taking part had enjoyed the challenge, and it was fun to organise.” added Mrs Farrell.
