Prom at the polo club

Glebelands students pulled out the stops to say their 'Goodbyes' in style.

Dressed to impress, 158 school leavers arrived for their prom-style dinner dance at the Hurtwood Park Polo Club in some weird and wonderful sets of wheels.

These ranged from a tractor to a double-decker bus and even the cab of a brand new lorry with a customised number plate PROM 2010.

Eight young ladies drew up in a stretch Hummer to join the party.  "I said to the new parents last night: forget saving for the wedding and start saving for the prom," said the school's head of achievement, Sandra Hearn.

"Last week's party was the thing they have been looking forward to for the last five years and Facebook is now rife with all the pictures."

"They have been a terrific year group and it will be sad to see them go, but I hope that they will remember this event for many years to come."
