Students at Glebelands School showed an all round improvement in this year's GCSE exams.

There were many happy faces as the teenagers collected their results on Tuesday 24th August.

Nearly three-quarters of the year group - 67% - achieved five or more A*-C grades, including english and maths.

The school said there were some outstanding individual performances at all levels, including 21 students who achieved nine or more A*/A grades.

Head teacher Anne Hutchinson said: "I am very pleased with our results as they show an all round improvement on last year and the students deserve their success."

"I would like to say a big 'thank you' to all the staff for their hard work and to the parents for their support and encouragement," she added.
